My Tribute To Nine/Eleven

Autumn

Apple city rising
to
usual stock market business
unseen winging silver birds
one from the north
its twin from the south
slammed
burst into fire

Tens of thousands died
on the day of the
guillotined concrete heads
toppling through the skies
perpetuated by evil no-names
with murder in their hearts

Two stately buildings
reduced to monstrous chimneys
fantastic smoking pipes
producing a strange gray pall
hanging over the waking city

Nobody
believed it could happen
not here in the

U. S.

of

America

Stunned amazement crawled like snakes
into our basic instincts

A mixture of distress and fear
clasped hands
and stared glassy-eyed
through the smoke

Stone-like faces of citizens
at mutiny with each other

Through the air
hurtling limp dolls
the puppet master's head was turned
a few seconds too long

That unexpected incidence
turned our whole world
into a lush of meaning

Thank You,

Rich

WHY?

A question so many asked, and so many couldn't answer. This world, the Bible fortells, will go from bad to worse. It says that the love of the greater number will cool off. It says that there will be disasters. It says there will be panic and anquish. It says it will be darkest, before the light. And even so, during these dark times, we can't help but question "WHY" or wonder how much longer? But the Bible promises reprieve. It promises, "Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more."

So, just like the Lord's Prayer, we pray that God's will be done (eventually) on earth as it is in heaven. We pray for a new world. We pray for peace, when our swords will be beat into plowhsares. We pray for the time when the meek will inherit the earth and there will be no tears or mourning or outcry.

And until then, we must have faith. Faith that he watches, that he hears, that he cares, and that he WILL put an end to all this nonsense.

I, too, had written a couple pieces on 9-11. They are "Featured" at the moment (and listed under my BOOKS section, titled AND THE WORLD CAME TUMBLING DOWN.

I don't think you've read any of them. There are three submissions in that "Book" so far.

Why, I don't understand, and I will never pretend to, but I know that we will never forget the day the America united wept. We were crying with you. I am asuming the eagle was you. Great write, good job, thanks,

Gina

I love this poem. It was a tragic. My prayer group " Love's Embrace," still prays for the families and their loved ones.

Another poem written by a good poet about Nine-Eleven. It's a time well never forget and I'm sure that a lot of people lost family members that day. All the pain it brought and the families torn apart. It's a painful day that's been burned into our memories. Kinda of ironic that I took a picture of the Twin Towers when my father took my up on a boat delivery there... The strange thing was that it was exactly one year before that day.
And here's my complaints: You need to read over grammar, take out the unnecessary spaces, and use captials. All the same you did a very good job with this poem. Keep writing!

May the divine darkness be with you,
Leigh of the Commenting Crusaders
