It was a cold winter afternoon. The snow covered the streets of London with a huge white dress. Not a single soul could be seen walking on those haunted streets.

As the clock struck 5; you could hear Big Ben's screams throughout the dead city. Suddenly an old man appeared from far away. He could barely walk as if the snow was pulling him down like quicksand. He managed to make his way to a library near by. He knew that it was the only place he could keep both his body and mind warm.

The sight of books on the shelves brought warmth to his soul. He quickly grabbed a book and looked for a warm corner to rest his tiered body and cold soul.

The book he read gave him more warmth than a million candles. They made him travel to the warm and sunny world of imagination. Where no more loneliness was found.

Excellent. You must be familiar with the American Library Association's programs for the homeless.
