by far the best I've read from you...its eloquent and beautiful and poignant and defiant and just...spot on...unapologetic, courageous and inspiring...most excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its up there with "Death Be Not Proud" by John Donne and "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" by Dylan Thomas.
BEAUTIFUL! Yes, yes that it is. Nobody has to fear death, because if you do, then you xcan't be considered strong in the sense that you might give up a little too easily. I mean, that;s not always the case, but if you fear death, then you're just going to end up wasting away your life. If you never take a chance or a risk, and you're always being overly cautious (which can be a bad thing at times) then you end up a worry-wart and you can never really enjoy yourself, and your poem portrays that beautifully. Great job!
This defies many imagination, most won't even think about this subject, and yet, you have given simplicity to it ,in a sense, and the read is somewhat soothing to the fearful heart, that is if the one in fear has the courage to continue on with the read many people turn from my work with the first mention of God, let alone death. This is great work, and it has great flow
I especially liked the refrain this as I'm sure you know is not an easy task to accomplish, even the great 'POE' admitted his difficulty with it in the writing of the 'Raven' I attempted it once and came to the conclusion "NEVERMORE!" quoth Dan. At least not far awhile my envy is growing David.
GREAT JOB!
If Christ has conquered death hell and grave, why is it still coming? Interesting write and gives one something to think about.
I belive in Christ.
God bless,
Judy
Though serious and weighty this topic, I couldn't help but chuckle at the last stanza as I pictured Lieutenant Dan a'top the mast (yard arm) in Forrest Gump. And very true your statement... no need to fear... Jehovah God is here for us. :-) (Underdog music quietly playing in the background).
