Good bye,
I guess sometimes it means good riddance,
sometimes it's parting to bad rubbish
but mostly for me it means that
we have shared some good times,
did we not?
Good bye,
For the good people in my life,
that shared these happy moments with me,
For good reasons perhaps, or some purpose
though I may not comprehend them
have since gone by the wayside.
Good bye,
And hello to a future without them,
with only memories to keep me company,
and good days come and gone,
And good folks down the way side,
that have passed me by and by.
Good bye,
Good yesterday, good remembering,
good laughter brings a happy tear to my eye.
Good friends, good food,
Dear and gracious... my Good God!
A good life now has ended.... good bye!

I read Richard Reed Jr's poem "Goodbye" and left some assorted thoughts in his comment box. After reading them again... they almost sounded poetic to me so I thought I'd post them and see what YOU thought of them. Well? (This is SO not my normal way of writing!)

Bye is all that I can say
I never saw the good to it
Whenever I hear that good word
I've lost another good friend
And Lord knows I haven't got many
All I can say is "Goodbye good friend"
What is good about that?
That's neither...
Goodbye, good luck, nor good news
Goodbye is
A voice in the dark
Departures, I hate them and yet without them,
no arrivals. Great write you captured the mood perfectly, I was touched and moved.
The mind marks paths for us to follow, we share a view and meaning, words express more than communication, a heart leaves a mark in thought, soul drop to page, a passing and sharing of trust and self, I enjoyed.. Walt
