You'll Make It Through
by David Pekrul
copyright 04-18-2006

Age Rating: 10 to 127

It's lunacy to run away,
When everything is turning gray,
It's better yet to fight and stay,
For that is never wrong.

And when you can't see up from down,
And think that you're about to drown,
When all you do is wear a frown,
Then know that you belong.

For everyone has been like you,
But they all tried and made it through,
So think of them when feeling blue,
And you will find your song.

Now everything will be okay,
And you will always find your way,
When feeling lost, just start to pray,
And you will come out strong.

There are many ways to fight, and they needn't all be ugly.
Jesus said, "By their deeds ye shall know them."

Good write,

Rich

We should always stand up for what we believe in, although I think "fight" is a strong word that I personal dislike.

I love the style of this poem, the 3 rhyming lines and how the 4th of each stanza all rhyme. What is this style called? I would like to read about it.

That is really, really, really good. Turn your fear into courage, hehe, I read that out of a manga, but hey, it's true now that it comes to mind. You have a knack for making people think, well, they make me think, anyway, but wow you know you're so good at expressing your feelings and thoughts about the world and putting it down on paper. Not too many people can do that, so great job! I loved this one, too!

I can relate. I loved every second of your poem. In fact I read it everyday. This is my 4th time. I love it!

David, your rhymed poetry is good, but does not ring bells with me. While the themes are always great, they are so Edgar Guesty. I like the poems that you are writing, that force you to say with just the right word in the right place. They are strong poems.

This is just what I needed to read today! It is uplifting and has the answer that we are always searching for. So simple if we would just stop running and stand still for a while! Thank you!
Judy
