Arachnophobia
by Tabitha Beaudin (Age: 30)
copyright 04-21-2006

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Skipping along the path in between the woods and her backyard and eating a triple-scoop chocolate chip mint ice cream cone, Charlotte stops to admire a spider's web.

Shimmering drops of rain slide across the sticky contours of the web's silver fiber. Enchanted Charlotte touches one sainty drop. The water tickles as it rolls across her fingers. She giggles, but in the corner of her eye something wicked looms.

Hanging by a single thread, an immense arachnid falls. Eight hairy legs ending in extended points twist around the body of a half-bled fly. Malignant eyes lock on Charlotte.

Charlotte drops her ice cream. Her body quivers. Wraiths of dread coil into her. Breaths intensify as sweat creeps across her brow. The arachnid unfolds itself from the fly. It's hideous body swollen and falls to the ground inching closer to Charlotte.

Charlotte screams. Tears tickle down her face. She turns and flees. The spider starts after her........

Licking it's lips the spider turns back to the half-bled fly, sniffs it once and then slinks away. Deciding little girls are far more tasty then half-bleed flies.
