New Year’s Eve

  New Year’s Eve

I’m drifting along on the winding road,
Snowflakes are falling in seamless memoirs
Just one more day, a cold episode
Shifting the course to the evening star

December’s entrenched in its icy shell
But dream-scape fires burn hot within
Flaming desires spark emotional hell
Long-faded perfumes grasp my heart in their ruins

Wet weather gloom calls forth black lotus pieces
Centered around lost questions in white
Great loss and despair are mind-altering species
Criss-cross illusions flicker by candle-light

Thousands of sugar pills grace a dead man’s party
While seashells and oceans collide
Poseidon shoots tridents, 3-pointed photography
Neptune is smiling as waves start to subside

Leaving behind midnights glittered with gold
Another year slithers away
Into morning’s bleak light, winged serpents unfold
A prelude to Time’s passion and rage

I tried many times to pick which line(s) I liked the best and I just couldn't. I guess the ones that ring loudest are the following:

Flaming desires spark emotional hell
Long-faded perfumes grasp my heart in their ruins

My own memory often torments me and though the sands of time erode at the details of what was, wasn't, and what could have been... it never dulls the pain. (Sigh)

Good.
Climbing following mountain,
We fields also contain;
Take care for us: Native Land mother:
Bless and give us your presents: Only God father.
