Use The Golden Rule
by David Pekrul
copyright 04-26-2006

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Life can be so wonderful,
And life can be so cruel,
So if you want the most from it,
Then use the Golden Rule.

To treat each other as we would,
Have others treating us,
And care for all our fellow-men,
So there will be no fuss.

So there will be no wars to fight,
And there will be no pain.
We haven't got a thing to lose,
But everything to gain.

So try to use the Golden Rule,
And try to get along,
So we can make a brand new world,
And sing and brand new song.

Sadly, I have not followed the golden rule (many times). I often forget it and treat others lower than me with disrespect. Just a little sugestion:

"To treat each other as we would,
Have others *treating* us,"

I think it would sound better if it was "To treat each other as we would, Have others *treat* us,", but thats just my opoion. Change it or not, your the expert, not me. Otherwise it was very nice and we should all follow it, espeaily me.

Excellent Ballade,

Great sentiments, great rhymes, and great meter.
Who could ask for more.

Thanks for the great read,

Rich

Sounds like ... Paradise! I love reading Isaiah where it describes the new world and how wonderful it will be. And wouldn't it be great if there was no BAD news to write/read in the paper in the morning? What would the governments do if every soldier refused to fight? I guess they'd have to find a new way to hash it all out, eh? It's more than a dream though, it's a reality not yet beheld... isn't that part of the definition of faith?

Good write, as always...
