Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or any other characters in the manga, because if I did, I’d be writing my manga, not a FanFiction.

Summary: Your everyday Naruto FanFiction, with a twist!

Chapter 1

“YOU’RE LATE!” Naruto screamed at Kakashi.

“I’m terribly sorry, but I-“ Kakashi started but got cut off by Sakura.

“We KNOW, you got lost on the road of life.” She said while anime sweat-dropping.

“No,” Kakashi said “I was actually going to say something about a mission we were assigned, but if you don’t want to hear it, then I guess I’ll just leave…” his voice dropped at the end and he smirked behind his mask.

“NOOOO!” yelled Naruto and Sakura simultaneously, while Sasuke looked at Kakashi and raised an eyebrow.

“Yes, we’ve been assigned to go to Canada… I think the city is called O-Oko… Okotoks! Right! That’s it!” Kakashi said, tongue-tied but all the same proud of his being able to pronounce the word.

“Come again?” asked Naruto, frustrated at the foreign name.

“Okotoks,” Kakashi repeated, “and we have to leave in an hour, so go pack; I expect we’ll be gone approximately three to four weeks time, maybe longer, so hurry!”

An hour later they were all back at their regular meeting place, equipped with bags, sacks, and pouches full of kunai and such.

“All right,” said Kakashi, “we’ll have to make exceptionally good time in order for us to catch our plane.”

“Plane?” repeated Naruto, liking the how it sounded, “what’s a plane?”

“I’ll explain everything on the way, no need to worry.” explained the jounin.

They were well on their way to Suna by the time Kakashi finished explaining everything and got Naruto to understand… most of it at least. Kakashi figured if they kept making time this good they’d be in Suna at sundown of the first night.

“Kakashi?” Naruto asked again, “Kakashi, what’s a plane?”

“A plane is an aerodynamically built object that can fly, and is used to carry people over long distances at one time.” Glancing at Naruto, he noticed the dumbfounded look on his and Sakura’s face. Sighing and rolling his eyes he continued , “In other words it’s somewhat like a bird, except it’s wings don’t move and it’s not alive.”

“Uhh…okay…I’ll take your word for it…” muttered Naruto blankly.

“You do that!” grinned Kakashi.

The next morning, they ate a quick breakfast and were off. The weather was perfect, and they got a good start to where they were going. Everything was perfect…except for the fact that Kakashi forgot to explain something the day before. (Me: But SHHHHH! Kakashi doesn’t know this yet! And if you tell him it might ruin the story!)

“Where exactly are we going, Kakashi?” Sakura randomly asked.

“We uh… hang on, it’s coming…going to…oh shoot…umm…well you’ll just have to wait and see,” Kakashi managed with difficulty.

“Okay then…” Sakura mumbled under her breath.

At noon they took a short rest for lunch and once again were off. Several hours later dusk was fast-approaching, and in the distance Sasuke noticed a dark figure, but figured everyone else saw it, so he decided to keep his mouth shut.

Three quarters of an hour later, team 7 stopped in front of the ‘figure’ Sasuke had seen earlier. It was black in the middle, got lighter to the sides, was about 8 feet tall, and was swirling.

‘Oops,’ Kakashi thought subconsciously, ‘I must have forgotten to explain this to the others, well no matter now…it’s not like it really needs explaining…who wouldn’t be able to tell it’s a vortex?’

He then looked ‘round at the others who had all pulled out kunai or were performing hand seals, for they didn’t know what it was.

“Ahem,” he coughed, in order to get their attention. When the three were looking at him he said “Yes…well. Now then, there are three parts to this mission, the first one being, this here ‘thing’ has to swallow us."

“Has to swallow us?! Are you out of your mind?” Naruto shouted as he was obviously quite angry.

The others looked at Kakashi in shock. He blinked, they didn’t.

“Well,” Kakashi said, looking at the instructions written on his hand and fore-arm, “I’m not crazy according to these instructions. Hmmm… yes, this is exactly what we’re looking for al right. And yes… we need to step into the middle if we want to successfully complete this mission.”

Sasuke suddenly changed his face into a look of hard-core determination, and took a step closer to the blob.

Kakashi pulled up his headband and activated his sharingan to check for any unknown chakra. There was none. Pulling his headband back over his left eye he said, “Yes. It’s safe. Now then. I’ll go first. Sakura come after me, followed by Naruto, then Sasuke.

And one by one they disappeared into an unknown world…

(Me: They all landed in the middle of a street in Tokyo, Japan. But SHHHH, because they don’t know that yet!)

From anyone else’s point of view who was watching, it was as if four unknown people fell out of the sky.

“Hmmmmm…” Kakashi sighed, looking around, “it looks to me as if we’re in a city called Japan, but I’ll go and make sure anyway.” And he hurried off to ask one of the many people where they were, and how to get to what they call an ‘airport’.

“Alrighty then, this way it is” Kakashi said while pointing down one of the busy roads. “This way to the airport.”

“What the heck is an… ai- airport?” asked Naruto, saying the word slowly, and repeating it quietly afterwards, because he liked the way it sounded.

“Well,” said Kakashi, “we’ve made good time so far and our plane doesn’t leave for 6 hours yet so let’s go down this street and maybe we’ll find a ramen shop.”

“Ramen!” Naruto yelled while he took off down the street that led to the airport, “Ramen, ramen, ramen, ramen…”

As they walked out of the shop, Naruto burped. Sakura sweat-dropped, while Kakashi rolled his eyes and sighed.

“Oh yes,” Kakashi mentioned, “this town is called Tokyo, I’d almost forgotten.”

“Hey Kakashi, Maybe you’re getting old,” Naruto teased while sticking his tongue out.

Kakashi ignored this comment and they all continued walking down the street he had pointed out earlier. It was about… 4 o’clock Kakashi figured. There was two hours until their plane left.

At the airport, Sakura went and asked people for directions, because Kakashi didn’t socialize that well, so it was a little awkward for him. Besides, he’d done all the asking so far, he figured it was someone else’s turn.

As they walked down the corridors Sakura pointed out, they looked through the large windows and noticed very large, roundish … almost birdlike – Except larger – objects. (Me: This, of course, was a *whispers* plane, but they don’t know that yet *shifty eyes* so don’t even think of telling them!)

Kakashi, having memorized the definition of ‘plane’ from a dictionary, still did not know what a plane looked like, and wondered subconsciously what the thing he was looking at was actually called.

They made their way through corridor after corridor and after what seemd like hours, Naruto half-shouted, half-asked “Are we there YET??”

Rolling her eyes, Sakura said, “Naruto, it’s only been five minutes and you’ve asked me that TEN TIMES already.”

Sasuke and Kakashi both vaguely wondered how Sakura kept her cool, because if it had been one of them they’d have about three veins throbbing in their forehead, and they would nonstop be yelling at Naruto to shut up. But yes, this was strange, usually, Sakura would have lost it by now too, and would hit him over the head, as was expected from her. I mean, she’d been doing it to him ever since she met him. Every time Sakura turned around, Kakashi winced, but the hit never came.

“We need to go through those things.” Sakura explained while pointing to the security guard check things, as she pronounced them.

“Why?” Naruto asked, “What are they going to do to us? How can we be sure we can trust them?” He said the last sentence slowly with a strange look in his eye, to let the affect sink in.

“I don’t know, but look! There are other people going through them. It looks to me as if we have to put our bags on the moving table thing, and then walk behind that screen and pick them up,” Sakura explained patiently.

“Well, okay then, it sounds easy enough, but if it doesn’t do that, then I’m afraid I will not allow myself to like you anymore, Sakura,” Naruto said dizzily, almost in a drunken state.

‘He must have had too much ramen,’ Kakashi thought, ‘ well this is just great. Now he’ll be even more hyper than he usually is!’

“Alright,” he said, “I’ll go first. Naruto, follow me, followed by Sakura and then Sasuke.”

Kakashi stopped, looked around, put his luggage on the conveyer belt and stepped behind the large black screen. No sooner had he done this than a loud alarm bell rang through his ears. He was quickly surrounded by guards in blue and black uniforms.

“Oh my,” he said to the guards, “I don’t believe this happened to anyone else.”

“No, it didn’t,” explained one of the guards, “Are you foreign here?”

“Umm… well, yes, you could say that I suppose,” Kakashi stuttered uncertainly, subconsciously noticing there were people staring at him from every direction.

“Well, what’s the name of your city then?” the guard asked, pulling out a notebook and pencil.

“Konohagakure,” Kakashi stated.

“Come again?” the guard asked questioningly.

“Yes well, it’s kind of hard to explain…” Kakashi started, but was cut off by the guard.

“You’ll need to pull out all weapons, sir,” he stated clearly.

Kakashi glanced nervously at the three chuunins and gulped loudly. They all understood his message and, when no one was looking, they took their bags and sacks and suddenly they were gone. Kakashi, of course, knew where they were, and if he pulled up his headband he’d be able to see them. He couldn’t with his right eye though, because they all used an invisibility jutsu to go down the hall and up the stairs that led to the plane.

“We don’t have all day, you know,” said the guard, tapping his foot impatiently.

“Oh! Um yes, about that…” Kakashi said.

“Yes?” the guard was getting angry now. Kakashi could tell, because his face was turning crimson.

“I’m afraid I can’t allow you to take hold of my items,” Kakashi stated.

“And why n-“ questioned the guard, but before he had finished his sentence, Kakashi and his luggage disappeared in a cloud of smoke.

Kakashi reappeared on the plane, lifting up his headband to activate his sharingan, but didn’t need to, the three chuunins were sitting in the back of the plane, looking confused at the seats, headphones, and movie screen. He sat down behind them, pulling down the headband.

“Whew, that was close,” he sighed.

The others, who had not noticed him suddenly whirled around as if he’d said ‘Boo!’ Well… Sakura and Naruto did anyway, Sasuke just sort of sat there with his arms folded.

“Kakashi! You’re okay! I thought for sure you’d get thrown in.. in tht place you told us about… j- jele?” Sakura exclaimed.

“Oh, you mean jail?” Kakashi asked. When Sakura nodded, he continued, “Well, I almost did, they might come up here looking for us, but that’s alright. Everytime a guard comes by, turn your head or use you invisibility jutsu or something.”

“Gotcha!” they said in unison… well… Sasuke just sat nodded and said nothing… that spoilsport… (Me:*gasps* WAIT! Don’t tell him I said that! He’ll get really mad! *shifty eyes* I’M TOO YOUNG TO DIE!! Any who, that’s somewhat off-topic… )

A while later, the plane took off, and the chuunins and jounin couldn’t compare the ride to anything else in their lives. They watched their first movie ever, and ate instant noodles. Five hours later they landed again.

“Alright,” Kakashi said after they got out of the airport. I can sort of make out the writing on the signs. I expect you all brought your English books?”

“Believe it!” yelled Naruto.

Sasuke and Sakura pulled out their books as answer.

“Okay,” said Kakashi, “now all we need to do is catch a taxi.”

“What’s a taxi?” Naruto asked.

“I’m not exactly sure…” stated Kakashi, “Maybe it’s some kind of evil missing-nin.”

“Maybeee…” Naruto said in a funny voice.

Meanwhile, Kelsey, Jessica and her parents were driving home from shopping. Kelsey came along… since she was spending the summer with Jessica. Suddenly Kelsey spotted some familiar silver-spikey-hair, and Jessica saw familiar whisker marks.

“STOP THE VAN!” yelled Jessica and Kelsey at the same time, waving their hands in the air.

“What’s wrong?” asked Jessica's father, but Jessica and Kelsey were already outside.

Naruto heard a slamming sound, and when he turned around to see what it was, he got hit with two girls he didn’t know… and they were hugging him, so he did the only sensible thing, he hugged back! Sasuke, having noticed Naruto was getting more attention than him, gave Naruto a cold glare. Luckily, Naruto didn’t notice, or things might have gotten bad.

After Jessica and Kelsey were finished hugging Naruto, Jessica's parents suddenly yelled at her to hurry up with whatever they were doing.

“Do you need a ride to somewhere?” Kelsey asked.

“We’re looking for a taxi,” Kakashi explained.

“Where are you going?” questioned Jessica.

“I don’t know,” Kakashi sighed, “We’re supposed to go to a city named Okotoks.”

“Then we’re your ticket there!” Jessica exclaimed.

“Huh?” said Sakura, “I don’t get it…”

“It’s an expression,” explained Kelsey, “it’s nothing that important.”

“Okay then…” said Naruto.

“Okay so just follow us, okay?” Jessica directed.

“Gotcha,” said Kakashi.

Kakashi and the chuunins followed Jessica and Kelsey back to Jessica's parents van, and all got in. Surprisingly enough, Jessica's parents couldn’t see the Konoha village ninja, and numerous times asked who the girls were talking to.

“DUCK FOR COVER!!” Kakashi suddenly yelled, and they all ducked below the windows, while Kelsey and Jessica stared at them blankly.

“Why did you do that?” asked Jessica.

“That thing,” Kakashi started, panting, “That thing was going to attack us! Why didn’t you duck? Now we’ll for sure be caught!”

“Nooooo,” said Kelsey, “that thing was a car. They drive on the roads, but they don’t attack anybody… well… hardly ever… but if they do it’s usually on accident. But the cars aren’t alive, it’s the people in them who make them work.”

“So somewhat like Kankurou’s puppet?” asked Naruto, expecting to get blank stares in return.

“Precisely!” exclaimed Jessica.

“Umm…how did you know that? How do you know Kankurou? And WHY did you hug me – not that I have a problem with it – as soon as you saw me?” asked Naruto, looking a bit creeped out.

“Well, we’ve read this manga series by Masashi Kishimoto and it’s all about you guys and … HEEY! Kakashi, where’s your little orange book?” asked Jessica.

“Icha Icha Paradise?” Kakashi asked. The two girls nodded and he continued, “Oh. I finished that a while ago, I’m waiting for Jiraiya to write another one.”

“Oh,” said Kelsey.

“Anywho, back to my explaining,” continued Jessica, “so yes we read this manga about you guys and everything, so… for instance we know that Naruto has the Kyuubi sealed inside him, and Sasuke comes from the Uchiha clan, whom he wants to avenge; And he hates his older brother Itachi for killing his clan. And pretty much everything else,” Jessica stopped awkwardly, noticing how Sasuke was glaring at her, Naruto looked shocked, and Sakura and Kakashi had let their mouths drop to the floor (chibi-style). For Sasuke, she glared back at him and gave him a dirty look. At this he was shocked; no one had ever done that before.

Kelsey noticed that Sakura looked as if she were going to blow up, probably because of the look Jessica had just given Sasuke. In result, Kelsey patted Sakura’s shoulder reassuringly and Sakura eased up a bit.

When they got to Jessica's house, Jessica invited them in to look around. They carried all their bags inside too, which were put downstairs.

After this, Jessica asked Kakashi, Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura if, instead of always having to go to a hotel, they wanted to stay at her house. They accepted, then it was supper time. Now, since Jessica's parents couldn’t see the ninjas, and it would look rather funny to have four extra bowls and spoons ‘magically’ eating the food and making it ‘disappear into thin air’, Jessica and Kelsey snuck food downstairs for them to eat.

After everyone was finished, it was time to decide who slept where. After some discussion, it was confirmed that Sakura would share a room with Kelsey and Jessica. The guys would sleep in the downstairs living room. Luckily, they all brought a mat to sleep on, or things might have been crowded.

The next morning after breakfast, Jessica's parents went out, and Darren (her little brother) was babysitting Kaitlynn and Matthew (her little sister and other little brother). Jessica was surprised, because none of them could see the ninja either. So, Jessica told Darren that her and Kelsey were going for a walk.

Outside, Kelsey asked Kakashi, “Now, is there any place you’d like to go?”

“Umm…” said Kakashi, “I don’t really know what we’re supposed to expect.”

“Do you have a ramen shop??” Naruto asked eagerly.

“No, sadly,” said Jessica, smiling. “But we have lot’s of other good food and restaurants.”

“Awwwwwww,” said Naruto, pouting.

“Okay then, we’ll show you the whole city!” said Jessica in an excited tone.

And off they went to explore the… Okotoks.

First, they walked down to the river, and after that they went to the movie theatre. The movie they saw is unknown. Afterwards, they walked back home to Jessica's house.

“What’s that thing?” Naruto asked, pointing to the (Me: *whispers* phone, but they don’t know what it’s called yet so SHH don’t ruin the surprise!)

“You seriously don’t know what that is?” Kelsey asked, raising an eyebrow.

“No I don’t, do you have a problem with that?” Naruto pouted.

“Oh, well…” started Jessica when Kelsey whispered something in her ear.

“Yes, well that’s called a…a…computer! Right, that’s what it is! A computer!” Jessica started while Kelsey muffled a giggle.

“Oh!” Naruto said, “how do you work it?”

“You pick up the receiver and push the buttons,” Kelsey explained. As she reached for the receiver to demonstrate, the ‘computer’ rang, and everyone jumped.

“I’ll get it!” Naruto yelled, “I wanna pick it up!” and with that he picked up the receiver. “I can’t hear anything,” he said, shaking it, and making the pouting sticking-out upper-lip-face that Naruto does.

“Umm…you’re holding it upside down,” Kelsey pointed out.

Naruto turned crimson and slowly turned the receiver the right way and put it to his ear, only to hear a lady blabbering on about something Naruto didn’t fully understand.

“Uhh… “ he said, handing the receiver to Kakashi, who held it to his ear then, having no luck, holding it to Jessica's face.

“Hullo?” Jessica said, “Uh huh… uhh huh… hmm…I see, yes I’ll tell her as soon as she gets home… yes, alright.” And with that she hung up.

The weeks passed by and passed by, and soon it was time for the chuunins and the jounin to leave. They were quite sad about it, but they knew they had to. Naruto had become quite attached to Jessica's two cats, Coda and Casper.

“ I want a kitty back in Konoha,” he said, “maybe then it wouldn’t be so lonely.”

And then they all got in the van, and they drove to the airport. Hugs were given and handshakes exchanged, and then it was time for them to leave.

“Maybe you can come visit us sometime” Sakura suggested.

“Sooner than you think,” said Jessica and Kelsey exchanging smiles and winking at Kakashi.
