If I could
by Jaime Romans
copyright 05-21-2006

Age Rating: 13 to 127

If I could give you hope would you still
look for faith in yourself, in God’s plan and in humanity?

If I could take away your pain would you still
find your strength, push to expand your limits and appreciate the depths of joy?

If I could erase your loneliness would you still appreciate your uniqueness, your abilities and that you possess a wealth of friendship?

If I could give you a sense of purpose would you still
learn initiative, commitment and to never give up on your dreams?

If I could give you strength would you still
search your soul for courage, hold yourself to account for your mistakes and listen to your heart when others tell you different?

If I could buy you accomplishments would you still thirst for knowledge, dare to explore the world around you and wonder about the possibilities?

If I could impart self worth would you still
creatively sabotage the system that stifles others, express yourself through your art without fear and be unwilling to trade intimacy for flashes of passion without affection?

If I could show you the future
one in which you would have everything you desire, would you be willing to take risks with no guarantees?

If I could chance you not finding these within yourself, I would not be your friend.

Hi Jaime,

Very profound and inspirational piece. To my point of view, we are not much unless we can do there things for ourselves. I have had Parkinson's Disease for a while -I do not let it deter me from doing for myself. When the other symptoms come, as I know they must, my spirit will still be walking.

Thanks for making my day!

Rich
