Glorious Grace
by Jack Curson (Age: 32)
copyright 05-04-2006

Age Rating: 7 to 127

Standing still with myself,
A purpose clings deep within me,
This great hope calls my soul closer.
Sighing with relief of this presence,
I understand why I am here...
What I am here for...
Who I am supposed to be...
Love my God with all my heart, soul and mind.
Do I do this?
My failure lies here.
Do I provide this same Christ like love, to love others as I would myself?
Do I love others as my Savior loves me?
Self disappointment lies here.
Brother of Christ Almighty,
Kin to my savior,
Promised through his blood for the sake of my sins,
Loved for whom I am and the potential of who it is I can be,
Forgiven!
Grace has bestowed upon me the greatest of gifts!
Stepping across a line that once held us all captive,
Death,
Erased from the ground we walk upon...
The greatest of all sacrifices...
Son of man,
His blood has set me free!
I am who I am supposed to be,
In time I will grow...
His word will strengthen me,
Glory will shine upon His name,
Love will reign from the Heavens,
God saved a man like me!

The almighty God knows that we are but lights of lesser luminescence. He knows that it is practically impossible for us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. I like the way you started this piece, by making a statement, then you realized that you, as well as the rest of us, need more time to develop into a brighter luminescence, so you turned it into a prayer. Great work! I am curious though, you mentioned, "This great hope calls my souls closer," leading me to believe that you believe that we are more than one soul or possess more than one. This is interesting, my brother Jack! This is full of imagery, fluidity and it contains a great theme. It's a pleasure reading your work!
