Wonder

Looking out
Through this window
That I've looked out so many times before
I see the town that I know all too well
I've been here all my life
I'm trapped here for all of eternity
Never to escape,
Never to break these chains
Even though I can't help but wonder...
When I'm looking out
Over the dock,
Over the bay,
Over the light lines bridge,
Over the same old calm waters,
Past the horizon
I see the sun blazing down
On this place I know all too well
I've been here so long
And I've always felt safe here
I look past the horizon and wonder:
I always want to escape
I always want to destroy the chains binding my wings
But...
Is it really worth it?
Do I really want to escape my sanctuary?

wow a good write that asks a powerful question. I think you captured the essence of feeling trapped and wanting to make changes brilliantly. I loved how the images in your language just popped off the page (techically the computer screen) and came alive in my mind. Great write. Tabby.
