I like, too, that same, very evocative second line: "shy smile on warmed rocks" is gushing with beauty and gentle, innocent poise. The more I read it, the more subtle flavors it evokes. I picture in my mind a sweet, young girl or boy coming of age into the great wide world, needing perhaps a gentle push, as she just starts to open up. It's a really great image that you've created, and it avoids any trace of sentimentality or "schtick." I love, too, the internal rhyme of "spring" and "whispering." This is a gem that either came to you in an inspired flash or one you worked on slowly and carefully, despite its brevity.
