Stating Opinions With Kindness

Now, how do I state my opinion,
Without having others get hurt?
As often I tell them just how I believe,
In order their souls to convert.
Just how do I state my opinion,
And still keep a lot of my friends?
When they don't agree with the things that I say,
And tell me our friendship will end.
Yet, each of us has our opinion,
Of things we hold dear to our hearts,
By simply expressing the things we believe,
Should never tear friendship apart.
For friendship is built on acceptance,
Acceptance is how we show love,
And though we may never agree with their views,
We'll listen to what they speak of.
Opinions are private convictions,
Convictions we're free to express,
It's how our opinions are shared with our friends,
That leaves us with loss or success.
Let's state our opinions with kindness,
Respecting what others believe,
And friendship will blossom as fruit on the vine,
The love we show, we will receive.

This makes me appreciate even more, the differences between us all. That's what is so great about not being a bunch of clones. We look, think, and act different from each other. And we all have a right to our own opinions. But as you said, it's all in the delivery of the message.
If only all people knew the importance of this.
Thanks for yet another good one!
Wow, I really like this poem, in fact, I was just thinking about a topic similar to this when I read it. These are some things that a lot of people must wonder, too, because it's kind of hard to have someone ask you what your opinion is, you tell them, and they tell you that you can't be friends anymore. That's just as bad as pre-judging people before you meet them, and it should stop. But anyway, I must go read more, adios *waves*
Very well put. As you say, we do not allways agree with others thought. I believe that is how it should be.
As the character in Tale of Two Cities said, and I paraphrase.
While he may not agree with what is said, he would defend the right for people to say it.
You, as we know, have your beliefs. I have my questions.
But far better to argue amiably than to fight seriously.
