This is dedicated to a blogger I know, who walks his dog on the Michigan shore of Lake Michigan every morning. He takes pictures of the area to post on his blog, and sometimes writes a poem about it. He also does virtual tours over the course of a week or so. He is a retired journalist, and I am going to try to get him to join PnP.
The water laps upon the shore
The gentle breeze does blow
The sandy beach beneath my feet
Along the shore I go
The forest with it's leaves of green
Are shelter from the sun
I love this place that makes me feel
The earth and I are one
And as I walk beneath the trees
And look out o'er the lake
I watch the rising of the sun
As those around me wake
The mornings come and mornings go
But always start for me
By walking on the sandy beach
My best friend and me.

You paint such word pictures, great.
I could smell the pine woods and feel the peace of the place.
It took me back to years ago when I walked with my best friend, my Labrador Max, he died aged seventeen. That was twenty years ago, and I still miss him every day.
Thank you for this.
Brian.
