Just let me lie here fast asleep,
I do not want to wake,
For every time I turn around,
I give, but someone takes.
I do not want to face to world,
I cannot stand the view,
For every time I take a look,
I see not them, but you.
For you're the one who let me down,
When I was climbing up,
And you're the one who stole my drink,
And left me with the cup.
I thought you were a friend of mine,
And I could count on you,
But every time I called you up,
You said that we were through.
So now I lay here fast asleep,
And hope that death will come,
As I remember how it was,
And see what I've become.
But, what is this? - Another day?
And why am I still here?
Oh, now I see what's happening,
For now it is so clear.
I have a reason to be here,
And live another day,
So, see the things that I will do,
And hear the things I say.
Although you try to take me down,
I'll do the things I must,
And though you think I have no strength,
It's in my God I trust.
So take your shots the best you can,
But they will miss their mark,
For I will rise to meet the day,
And on my path embark.
