Designer Cologne
by Lyle Berry (Age: 61)
copyright 10-09-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

There’s no love in the grave
When you’re here – it’s too late
Corpses don’t get a date
Time fleets past if you wait
You must not hesitate

There’s no love when you’re gone
Day is now to hold on
Kiss your precious someone
Do all you should have done
When you’re dead there’s no fun

There’s no love all alone
Empty room’s a poor home
Pensive blue by the phone
Doggy starved for a bone
In designer cologne

There’s no love – there’s no life
Madly clenching that knife
Choking chill with your strife
No one dear to clasp tight
Crying to the deaf night

There’s no love in the ground
No warm bodies around
Forsa’en hearts cease to pound
And worms don’t make a sound
At least that’s what I’ve found
