  A Thing Called Marriage

Birds singing this morning,
Echoing through the air,
Making a beautiful melody,
The trees swaying gently back and forth,
Hearing the breeze rustling the leaves,
Sitting here by the bay,
Listening to the ocean,
Gentle waves flows over the shore,
The silence and peace,
Feels my spirit with much joy,
The best of all,
Is having my love with me,
Sharing this moment together,
Holding hands and listening to natures own music,
Walking on the beach,
Collecting drift wood,
Simply forgetting everything,
But our love for each other,
Watching the butterflies twirl in the air,
The birds flying above,
Dancing with each other,
He takes my hand,
And we begin to dance,
With music that God had made,
Enjoying His creations,
And our company,
Laughing and being free,
Keeping our love steady and strong,
We splash water on each other,
And we run trying to avoid getting wet,
However, we are failed at the attempt,
Simply laughing at each other,
We run into each others arms,
And holding on to life,
Letting go everything,
But showing our love,
The love that joins two people,
To become one,
The thing called,
Marriage.

wow!it was wonderful.the way you expressed the
beach...I really had to take a moment of each sentence you wrote just to picture the romance and beauty.it was just wonderful.

This is very beautiful and romantic. It sounds more like the honeymoon than the marriage, although the marriage should be just the same. To have it this way takes lots of work, but it is worth it.
I found a few little errors that should be corrected:
"Gentle waves flows (should be 'flow') over the shore,"
"Feels (should be 'fills') my spirit with much joy"
"Holding hands and listening to natures (should be (nature's with and apostrophe) own music"
"Collecting drift wood (should be one word 'driftwood')"
"And holding on to (should be one word 'onto') life"

simply lovely...
I'm a marriage sap, always have been, although my condition has been rendered more acute in latter days...
this is so beautiful...

Hi Kim,

How are you? I was concerned. Are you OK?
I'm left speechless by this marvelous poem.As you know I am also a romanticist. This is the most romantic piece I ever read about marriage. I echo all of Liz's remarks.

Best of Luck to both of you.

I am praying for you and your beautiful
relationship.

Always a friend to both of you,

Rich

I've never read such a beautiful poem about marriage before!! Marriage is exactly how your words describe it. My definition of marriage is: the eternal bonding of two souls brought together by fate. I would love to get married someday but not just to anyone.I hope to find the perfect one who will hold the door for me, carry my books when they get too heavy, etc. And instead of getting married in a regular church, I'd get married in a Mormon temple; there, our souls would be sealed together for all eternity.
Pretty!!
Sincerely,
Liz
