Winding Roads

Life has many winding roads
We travel to and from.
Many obstacles get in our path
We strive to overcome.

We look ahead and leave behind
Things we don't understand.
Yet travel on is what we do
The best way that we can.

The Road sometimes seems uphill
We work to reach the top.
To succeed we realize
The key is not to stop.

Nothing ventured nothing gained
Is what we find to be true.
The way we treat those we find
Is how God judges you.

So put a smile on your face
And you will see smiles returned.
It's not the mistakes you have made
But the lessons you have learned.

That make you into whom you are
And what you will come to be.
The impressions that you leave behind
Will be your history!

That was something I can relate to all to well. Very nice write. So so true. I have to remind myself that the "bumps" in the road are learning experiences. Bumps and fires I've had to walk through. These last 8 months have been fires that only can be ventured through in faith. My faith.

Life has many journeys. This poem is but one of many. I enjoyed the flow except for the middle. It seemed a bit off and out of sink. Very good poem and I enjoyed the read.

Been away for a while. Great to read you again.
Jonathon.

This is such a true piece! There are so many different paths we can choose, and each choice we make determines who we will be. Wrong choices are not necessarily bad choices, so long as we learn from them and leave them behind. Follow the path of your heart.
I really love when someone's post sets me off like this. It means to me that there is something written there that has touched my heart, as this did.
Thanks!
BJ

Words of truth and spoken like a pro. I have nothing more to add except, "Amen".

The poem, as is usual with you, is flawless and a joy to read, and everything expressed is ultimately true. It seems so hard to put these principles into practice, but I guess one realizes that it always was our divine nature to be kind and just-- that to return to that state requires unlearning the bad habits and perceptions rather than learning something knew. Yes, "the key is not to stop" no matter how hard life seems to get. Thanks for this.

Jim
