If I Could I Would Write You A Love Song
by Richard Reed Jr
copyright 06-13-2006

Age Rating: 10 to 127

***** Original song lyrics*****

Verse1:

If I could I would write you a love song
With words that would last beyond time
I would tell all the world that I'm glad you came along
Rhyme after rhyme after rhyme

Chor1:

Oh I would sing like a bird in a new born spring
Like a lost child who's found his way home
I would write with my pen, words to make bells ring
For you, the sweetest love I've ever known

Verse2:

If I could I would write you a love song
Music in sweet harmony would float
Notes would rise to the sky, everyone would sing along
Note after note after note

Chor2:

Oh I would sing like a boy on his first date
Somehow you always make me feel that way
With my pen in my hand, tender dreams I would create
For you, the sweetest love to come my way

Verse3:

If I could I would write you a love song
Weaving my heart into each line
I would tell all the world, to you I do belong
Line after line after line

Chor3:

Oh I would sing like a bird in a new born spring
Like a lost child who's found his way home
I would write with my pen, words to make bells ring
For you, the sweetest love I've ever known

Chor4:

Oh I would sing like a bird in a new born spring
Like a lost child who's found his way home
I would write with my pen, words to make bells ring
For you, the sweetest love I've ever known

This is a magnificent poem. It's very beautiful and it shows your affection very well. I love the metaphors. I think the punctuation's wrong for the title though. Shouldn't there be a comma after could? *Not sure* But thank you for the comment on my poem that meant a lot to me. I loved your piece, keep up the great work!
Just a fellow writer,
~Cassie~

Rich... In the first verse, you write "If I could write a love song"... the lyrics show you surely can! The sensitivity and images work well to paint a picture.
