I Can't Take You off My Wall
by Leah Garrison (Age: 20)
copyright 06-17-2006

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Why can I not tear my eyes from your gaze?
It is only a picture with no power over me.
Yet somehow you bewitched it with your mesmerizing ways...
Could I still - No, it cannot be!
I love another now; he isn't you.
Somehow you have a claim and I can't let you go.
I am condemned to stare, and think, and stew...
I don't know why I thought that you should know.

i like it.lol i know just how you feel, i had a poster of robbie paul(famous rugby player) on my wall for years, i was obsessed.although now he's my uncles buisness partner i have met him and the poster has been removed. maybe you should make it a bit longer..add more of a story, conflict.

I have a picture of orlano bloom at my house that I continuously star at but I cant have him.
He is an actor and he stars in The lord of the Rings movies. I wrote a poem about him too.

I feel this way a lot. Just a few minutes ago I was thinking about my last girlfriend...the one I was engaged to for nearly two years, and thinking that next person I'm with, I hope fits my body the way that she fit me.

This is a wonderful wrok, and rings very true of so many painful emotions. Great job, Leah. As always.

One of the many of life's dilemmas which you have caught perfectly on the horns of your very good descriptive and insightful poem.

Good work my friend,

Rich

P. S. Thank You for visiting my site, it was much appreciated.

I like the germ in this and can imagine a moment of internal conflict, but I wonder if it could be developed further. Perhaps we need a little more of a story or a description to make it more aesthetic or moving.

Jim
