Sinking in a quicksand of desire
Thinking of you sets my heart afire
Burning flames possess my very soul
Fire that only your love can control
Wrap me in your arms and hold me tight
Say those words to fill me with delight
Save me from this breath-taking quagmire
I'm sinking in a quicksand of desire.
(This was supposed to be my entry into Richard Reed's "Finish the Poem" contest. Unfortunately, I didn't get it submitted in time. Congratulations to Jessica P. who won!)

Awesome! I loved the style of this one and it flows so well. I know how this feels alright and you have said it all, well almost but it's very nicely written! Great Job!
WOW! I have a few poems like this, but this one is just elegant and intense! In the first stanza, I do have to agree...the rythm felt a little off, but overall, it was great!
