I Will Rise

I will rise.
Though I sit in the depths of heartbreak
I will rise.
Though my heart shatter within me
I will rise.
Though my dreams die around me
I will rise.
Though I bury my hopes in unmarked graves
I will rise.

I will rise.
I have new promises to seize, so
I will rise.
I have new purpose to discover, so
I will rise.
I have a new dream to dream, so
I will rise.
I have a new hope to birth and
I will rise.

I will rise.
Leaving behind this brokenness
I will rise.
Leaving all of the old to seize the new
I will rise.
Leaving the stench of death and decay
I will rise.
Leaving my self and impotent wishes
I will rise.

I will rise.
In strength not found in me
I will rise.
In a promise born for me
I will rise.
In the hope I still carry within
I will rise.
In the God who carries me still
I will rise.

Jesus said unto her “I am the resurrection and the life.” ~John 11:25

Good to read you again, Heather.

I also believe in life after death, although it
seems invisible and unknowing, but faith will carry us through anything.

I love the repetition here it seems to echo down the years of the history of mankind.

Good write,

Rich

I wrote this piece the same day as I wrote "To My Children"... I needed to grieve over my infertility, but I am also convinced that there is life beyond death...beyond the death of dreams, hopes, even beyond death itself. This was written as a sort of banner to bear before me... Yes, I'm hurting, but there's more to life. Instead of wallowing in my sorrow, I choose to rise.

This is really great it shows a person who changed from what they were unto new faith and belief in the Lord, and they feel like nothing can bring them down from the feeling you get when you are close to the Lord.

You have given that scripture verse a whole new meaning. Even though the original truth is still there, you have shown how much more it means to rise.
This write is very positive, spiritual and uplifting, just what we all need.
Thanks.
