Crumpled waste basket paper balls
mumble as I stumble
tepidly tripping
over words too often
used
to tell tales of
gooey sentimental slush
drip-
ping
from mushy hearts
wanted
dead or alive
or
broken
winged metaphors and
phrases floating down
yesterday's river
who
reads that stuff:
perhaps
of love I don't know much
yet let me write you of some-such:
who
through gray-skied eyes never fail
to see each other's charms
And savoring tea and chat
through droopy dangling days
routine slouchy evenings
find their love afloat in that
who
thumb through their novel hearts
of worn bent-over pages
in paperback love sonnets
to find each day
an
augmented longing of their love
awakening on their tongues

I'm not sure how much more I could add that's meaningful to what has already been said. Certainly nothing but good things, if anything, but even those have been "pirated" by earlier comments. ^_^ Written for the word's sake, for it's own beauty, let the meanings fall as they will, they will be trapped in drops of amber for all time. Beautiful images and visions that awaken not quite long dead memories of some finer things. Very impressive, all of your presentation. It has been very well received. ^_^ Thank you!
I'm gonna keep on having to give you 5 stars, huh? Your poem is called Syrupy Slush yet your words aren't stuck together; each stand out to represent "love" as how we interpret it...or maybe how we don't interpret it. You've reached perfection yet once again!!!
Wow, once again you have me in awe of your brillance. Way to go! I just love this. The language is rich, pleasing and well the pictues it paints just jumps off the page and bites me!
