Goodbye to A Friend
by Erin G. (Age: 14)
copyright 07-23-2006

Age Rating: 4 to 127

I edited this piece, and it should flow alittle better.
---------------------------------------------------

Lies do go a long way,
They pierce hearts everyday,
Leaving marks to delay.

I trusted you, a friend,
But all things do end,
I gave you a life to lend.

You told your heart in pain,
For me there was no gain,
My thoughts were all in vain.

This last time, I say goodbye,
To you, for you must lie,
You left my heart out to die.

--------------------------------------------

This poem was written after I was lied to about very serious things by a former friend. I was sick of it, so I told her that I didn't want to associate with her anymore. No names, because some people know her...lol

P.S. I forgot your praise, sorry! And it does flow very well.

You got your anger out in very clear and descriptive way. I'm sure your former friend got the message. I can't help but wonder why she felt she had to lie.

Great write, especially the last stanza and last line.

Thanks for sharing.

Please read my poem "To a former friend who betrayed me".

Thanks,

Rich
