It's not much of a secret that I love the Seramyu musical. Until now I had to be satisfied with guessing the plot from some often rather poor copies which had no subtitles. I had to sit uncomfortably at my computer to see them because they were .avi files and wouldn't play on my DVD player which hooks to my TV. That's now changed.
I just got a Seramyu set of DVD's which I ordered. It is a set of 23 DVD's which cost me $68.75 + shipping. That's about $3.00 per DVD ! This is the most fabulous value you could ever ask for. They are in a format which plays on normal US DVD players. I haven't looked at them all yet because with 23 DVD's this will take some time. It includes performances and Omakes from the first showing of Seramyu in 1993 to 2002. True, the most recent ones are not included from 2003 to 2005 but some, if not all, of those are available from file-sharing such as bittorrent or emule.
While it is true that subtitled Sailor Moon movies, episodes, etc are often done in very clumsy english, this one isn't. It's easy to read and understand. Since I don't know Japanese I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the translations but they seem plausible.
The site where I bought these says that they will no longer be distributing these after Sept 19. Beg, borrow or hock everything you own for this ! Sell your brother or sister to gypsies if you must ! You'll be very glad you did !

To get the one I bought, choose All DVD's just above and to the left of the image of Sailor Moon. On the next page, the middle column second row down shows "Cruel Angel Productions." That is the set I bought. If your little brother or sister can't fetch enough money from gypsies then there are smaller sets you could get.
If you are wondering what Naoko Takeuci is like she makes an appearance in the 1993 DVD... maybe also in others which I haven't seen yet.
In case you wonder, no, I don't get a dime for telling you about this. I just happen to be a very happy customer :)

Seramyu is the Sailor Moon musical. It started playing in Japan in 1993 ands played until 2005. It is on hiatus at the moment but might come back.
This has live people in it. In a musical quite a bit of the plot is sung by actors and actresses.
