Nature's Love Song

  Nature's Love Song

The wolves howl at night,
Singing a love song.
The breeze carries the melody,
Over the mountains.
The moonlight reflects off of the lake,
Making the night seem enchanted.
The owl watches everything in sight,
As if to be guarding everyone's movements.
Once in awhile he would,
Join in the chorus.
The deer would come in the fields,
Gracefully leaping around each other.
Almost like dancing,
To the melody.
A raccoon and her children,
Come out of the Forrest.
Her children would stop and listen,
Then run to catch up with their mother.
The wolves step up to the cliff,
Stare at the moon and sing another love song.
This time it's more beautiful than the first.
The breeze brings scents of magic,
Over the world,
Spreading love around.
Two swans are swimming on the lake,
Touching and caressing each other.
That is Love's melody,
Sung by nature's creatures.
Often if you listened,
We sing the same song,
In our hearts.

I like the imagery- I love the way the words crash into each other and then fall away...almost like a tide coming in and out.

You know the saying "a picture's worth a thousand words"? Well, this poem is worth more than that, I guarantee. I love the way you wrote this, it's so lovely and magical...where did you come up with such an original idea?
