She had white fur,
Deep, dark brown eyes,
Full of life is how I remember her,
Chasing after the butterflies.
She rolled in the pile of leaves,
Barking and having fun,
We would run through the trees,
Then bake in the sun.
She loved the ocean,
Running upon the shore,
She loved the car's soothing motion,
But wouldn't get in the door.
She loved the outdoors more than me,
Hard to say,
That I can no longer see,
My Poohjay.
She has been gone a year now,
She is always in my heart,
I don't how,
But she gave my life a new start.
She saved my life thousands of times,
If not more,
How her eyes always shines,
In my mind as we were running on the sea shore.
Today it's a year,
Hard to think of her being gone that fast,
Her little crumpled up ear,
So special but didn't last.
My love for my friend and pet,
Will last beyond a lifetime,
You can bet,
That she was a best friend of mine.
I keep her alive,
Through the memories I write,
Through her I can survive,
Everyday and night.
She was just a dog but to me,
She was my light and my dream,
I can still see,
Her fur white almost like cream,
She lives through me.
