Run-Around Rose
by David Pekrul
copyright 07-04-2006

Age Rating: 10 to 127

I know of a lady named Rose,
Who runs around town without clothes,
In sunshine and rain,
I think she’s insane,
She shows off much more than her toes.

And then there was Heather*, we know,
Who’s feathers she wanted to show,
But not like our Rose,
Who loves to expose,
Our Heather quit that long ago.

This new girl is more of a vamp,
While Heather was only a scamp,
Our Heather was sweet,
From head to her feet,
But Rose is no more than a tramp.

*read “Heather’s Feathers” for a complete history.

David:

Loved the humor and of course the classical rhyme and meter of the limerick too. Great stuff! ROFLMAO.

Dave... This one makes me smile. Was Heather also a tramp... before she "quit that long ago?" I want to know!! I'll definitely get to Heather's Feathers. Greg

Nice, I like how you can take one of your limericks and make a new one...although you've made more than just one from Heathers Feathers. Anyway great job I loved it you put it together really well.

Off with her socks's, and off with her shoes's
Off with her head if Queen Mary so Chooses
She can't run amiss without any clothes
What else will she do? Only heaven knows!

The lady's are aghast Sunday in the pew
The men can't seem to concentrate, could you?
She walks in with a coat to protect from the cold
Then promptly hangs it up, courageous and bold

The whispers they rumble on high and on low
They follow Miss Rose around wherever she goes
Like thunder rolling among storm trodden hills
She likes to be naked and does what she wills

The city's siren, the community vixen,
Every wedded woman's nightmare in any given weather
She's simply a snake in the grass that can't be trusted
Certianly not like our fair feathered friend heather

Follow the throngs and pray for a reprieve
Call Silent Observer, keep a watchful lamp
Do your part to keep her flesh covered over
And maybe, just maybe, we can stop this tramp!

Okay, you know I love limericks, and you know I'm inspired by your work. You do realize you are starting something, right? As soon as it is approved, you can read my response to this here:

Thank you over and over for the inspiration! And why not start a contest again. I would love to see everyone's responses to this one, too!

Thanks David!

LOL David, you're starting trouble (the good kind!)
