THE SHELL(Part 1)
by Doreen Reynolds
copyright 07-11-2006

Age Rating: 10 to 127

An empty shell upon the shore
The life within it is no more
The tide has washed it on the beach
Upon the sand it is in reach
What mysteries has this shell seen
Beneath the deeps in fields of green
What was within it, what did it eat?
Look at the whorls they are no neat.
How long did it live before it perished
How was the shell made, how was it nourished.
Why is it coloured, so smooth the shine
Once it was a home, now, it is mine.
I place it with the others, the tiny, big and small
I wonder as I look at them
I marvel at them all.

Great poetry-how well you focused in the seashell and its evolution and environment and still created a most entertaining poem.
Good rhyme and rhythm. I like your style-so glad I came upon your site. I will be back.

Your new PnP friend,

Rich
