An Idea for a Contest (humorous)
by Richard Reed Jr

Age Rating: 1 to 127

Hi Mehrina,

Here's my idea for a contest:

Choose a famous serious poem and rewrite parts of it
to produce a humorous parody of it.

For an abbreviated example, I submit
a rewrite of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven":

Once upon a midnight scary
Flew away my sweet canary
Would she return? Any hope?
Quoth the raven, "nope, nope, nope."

I first heard 'The Raven' on the Simpsons and this little poem is so cute! ^.^ No wonder it won the contest! I would make it a winner too!

Hey that's cute!
Oh no! Now I can't get it out of my head... quote the raven "nope nope nope"
Ya know, the raven is my Native American astrological sign... FYI :)

Heh, that was funny! And a brilliant idea! I wonder what kind of rewrite the Odyssey would bring! ;) Thanks for entering my contest!
