Angel Anna
by Elisabeth H.
copyright 07-23-2006

Age Rating: 7 to 127

  Angel Anna
Picture Credits:

A most precious gift,
delivered with much care-
from a far-off palace in the sky,
where white, winged horses soar into the air.

A place where people dance atop the water,
where the shining of the sun never ceases-
hand in hand she walked with Him,
the most innocent of nieces.

Anna Maria Gonzalez-
her name defines her from the rest.
Named after the angel of all angels;
one who treated every stranger like a guest.

Hair as dark as a starless sky,
skin like a china doll's-
lips as soft as a red rose petal,
a heart as pure as the waterfalls.

Her knowledge like that of the goddess, Athena,
her eyes reflect the many colors of the Earth;
gazing at it through the eyes of Heaven-
so knowing, so loving, into rebirth.

As I lay here beside her,
my heart overflows with a love so warm and tender...
could this possibly be motherly love?
In my heart, I'll keep her forever and ever.

*Dedicated to my baby niece, Anna, to her mother Lara, and to my mom who gave me the idea to write about her.

A most precious gift,
delivered with much care

A great opening metaphor to a very tender loving poem. Babies are truly more precious then jewels.

Good write,

Rich

why is she the most innocent of nieces? have to elaborate on that. very well written for a young lady. i love the verse about who she was named after....sounds like a grandma or aunt. very unique. very cute how fantasty becomes reality - and you do love that baby very much!!!
