My Soul And Me Alone
by Robert Joseph Hughes
copyright 07-31-2006

Age Rating: 18 to 127

As I listen
I hear a sound
That’s gentle, a soft allure
A touch that warms and comforts me
To depths below my core

I feel the coolness of the night
A fear not found in me
As I walk below the trees
My core is falling free

As I breathe the gift of life
The air that’s given me
I hear the sounds that echo
In a forest calm and free

I walk I touch
The fallen leaves
Like pillows in the night
I move my hands
I touch my face
I feel the touch of life

The rain is falling
And the night is calling
My soul has found a home
As I walk below the trees
My soul and me alone

Truely one with nature. Being in nature can be such a spiritual thing. It shows the greatness of God and the smallness of man. It can be a calming for our souls. You have expressed these thoughts well.

Very visual. The freedom you find in nature is well expressed. It gives you time to think. Very Nice.

Your writing is descriptive, so much so that I got goosebumps! How you speak about your subject make it readable even for the cynics. Well done.
