If you could really change your world,
With one thing you could do,
If only one thing you could change,
Before your life was through,
I wonder what that thing would be,
And how it would turn out,
If you could give it all you had,
What would it be about?
Now, would it make a better life?,
Or would it weigh you down,
And as you try to live it out,
Would you, in fact, just drown?,
And would it make you hesitate,
To criticize and judge?,
Or would you stay the way you are,
And never even budge.
Now, what’s the thing that you would do?,
The thing to give you hope,
To help in times of great distress,
The thing to help you cope,
The thing to help in times of pain,
When everything is wrong,
When all your smiles are upside down,
And you have lost your song.
You have the means inside of you,
(It isn’t all that strange),
To change your corner of the world,
And simply rearrange,
The things that happen, good or bad,
The bad, to make them good,
To make your world a better place,
To be the way it should.
