Nan, tell me
by Lisa Harmon
copyright 08-09-2006

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Tell me it's a lie,
Tell me I was stupid to think that you could die.
Tell me that you're right here, just behind the door,
Tell me that you'll never leave me alone anymore.

Tell me the stories you told me once before,
Tell me again the tales from the war.
Tell me to sit down and get that food inside,
Tell me you'll start to count so i should go and hide.

Tell me of my mum and uncles, when they were small,
Tell me of Carmill dam summers at the waterfall.
Tell me of Bruce and when you had the farm,
Tell me of Robert and how you fell for his charms.

Tell me 'bout Mother Renshaw, she must of been a laugh,
Tell me of your brothers and sisters, I've seen them all in photographs.
Tell me that you love me, and you'll never say goodbye,
Tell me it was all a lie, the moment that you died.

I agree with David.. your work here has a mature depth to it.. but that is indeed the sound of losing a loved one.. solemn, mature..
I found that I, too, grew up with the passing of my grandmother... I was 45 years old! (wink)
Good job. Music from your heart.
