It's Time For Letting Go (Villanelle)
by Richard Reed Jr
copyright 08-04-2006

Age Rating: 4 to 127

Although I would say no,
To let her wing away.
It's time for letting go,

The sickly barn swallow,
Who healed, must go her way:
Although I would say no.

For wild and tame you know,
Are not the same I'll say:
It's time for letting go,

The tears that trickling, flow,
Will all dry up someday,
Although I would say no:

And not believe it's so,
To lessen pain's heart-weigh,
It's time for letting go.

Once she loved me so.
That time is not today:
Although I would say no.
It's time for letting go.

A very good poem and the rhyming is great too. It shows you love animals and hate letting them go obviously everyone hates letting go because you grow fond of having a new companion around even though you know it's not forever!!! Iused to work voluntarily looking after stray animals i loved playing and looking after them hated it when they had to go though i always got sad. But i guess life must go on and there's plenty others waiting for help.

This is really nice! I like this style of poem. And the subject is cool, too. I am so much a nature and animal lover, and would definitely take in a sick bird or animal to help it heal and then send it on it's way. Thanks for this one!

BJ :)
