You'll Wonder Who I Am (A riddle)
by David Pekrul
copyright 08-07-2006

Age Rating: 10 to 127

I've lived my life on Jupiter,
I've lived my life on Mars,
I've lived my life on galaxies,
Beyond the distant stars.

I saw the Earth's foundation stones,
Before the world was made,
Before the time of plants and birds,
Before the grassy glade.

I've travelled through both time and space,
Beyond both light and sound,
Read every great philosophy,
Wherever truth is found.

I'm every place you want to look,
And everywhere you'll be,
And one day I will visit you,
But you will not see me.

And now you wonder who I am,
Or who I ought to be,
I'll tell you now just who I am,
I am "Eternity".

I thought is was going to be Tom Bombadil (Lord of the Rings) He goes back that far. This is a delightful poem, David. One that is inspiring and eloquent. I like the meter and rhyme. Great job.

-tilts head-
Hmm. This piece really made me think. I like it... that not what it made me think, but still. ^_^
I love the way you have it rhyme, and you get into the time before time really... that's where I start thinking.

What a brilliant little picece of art, I loved the theme off this and your other poems and the story caught between the lines and words in this.

Great work as usual, Tabby.

Some things are more than the human mind can fathom... or... at least THIS human mind. LOL. I like this... it makes me think further than I have in awhile, and that doesn't happen often as my mind is very active and loves to think. Thanks for sharing this!
