Ziploc Omelet
by Mary -BrytEyz- Ball (Age: 38)

This works great !!! Good for when all your family is together. The best part is that no one has to wait for their special omelet !!!

Since I had a slew of children spending the night last night, this was a PERFECT idea that kept them amused, fed them, and kept the mess to a minimum.

Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker.

Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them.

Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc.

Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake. Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up.

Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes. You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water.

Open the bags and the omelet will roll out easily. Be prepared for everyone to be amazed.

Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and a great conversation piece.

Wow cool. That's an awesome idea. If I could eat omelets I would totally try this. So it turns out that a pot is genius, because ziplocs melt in the microwave. Ooops...

What a great idea! I always had trouble making omelets. I can see this turning into a party, even when there wasn't one.

This is creative. I always wanted to try to make omelets without killing it. This is a really good idea. I'll try it sometime. Talk to you later.

This is so creative... I would have never thought of anything this cool. It takes longer than a traditional omelet but less mess and hassle. I think it is well worth the wait. Awesome idea, my kids will love this too, they always want to help me cook and now they can!
