Show Not Tell: A Warm and Inviting Place

It felt like I was in a place of pure peace. The walls around me made me feel loved and secure. There were many different kinds of foods. The colors were ripe and full. The smells were rich. I could smell my my mother's peach cobbler baking in the oven. Candles lit the table with the neatly arranged china. There was delicate crystal silverware atop the tablecloth of tiny scattered flowers. A gingerbread house lay on the counter with all of its little candies pieced together with creamy ice frosting. Jazz was playing. Outside it truly looked like a winter wonderland. A big, beautiful, fragrant tree stood in the middle of the cozy room, its ornaments aglow with the faith of every child's heart; a belief of the things grownups can't understand or never take time to see. But in a place like this, dreams come true. Everything was so wonderful, it's as if it were in a dream.

A portrait of a fairytale landscape painted with most beautiful imagery.
The prose was very well written. You show a tremendous talent here.

Most fondly,

Rich

You have painted such a beautiful picture, so very peaceful and quaint. The picture you used at the top of the poem, only added to this warm feeling. Nice job, I really like this.
