The White Wall
(Part Three)

Beyond The White Wall

Sammy sat astride the wall, the landscape that lay out in front of her was like nothing she had ever seen before; she glanced back to where she had just come from and saw that it was just the same, but when she looked back towards the new scenery it was as she first saw it, she appeared to be very high above the ground.

As she looked down she was only able to see above the Streets and houses that were littered everywhere, they seemed to lack the orderly way houses are usually placed. They were scattered in what seemed like random positions.

Sammy concentrated more and found that she was able to pick out movement in the Streets down below, she was able to see figures (whether they were man or woman Sammy was not able to tell) walking along the Streets, she never saw any vehicles at all but this did not seem to be strange to her as what can be more stranger than what she was viewing now?

Sammy decided that this was too much for one person to take in and decided also to go back to Betty's house and persuade her to come with her to see this strange view that lay out in front of her.

Sammy twisted herself around so that she would be able to climb back down the wall into the garden where she had just come from, the wall was really smooth and hard to hold onto; just when she was about to swing her leg over the wall she lost her balance, fear showed in her eyes as she yelled out, 'Nooooooooo!'
She lost her grip on the wall and when she tumbled over the edge and fell into the unknown that was speedily aproaching her, she also lost her perception of what was real and what was not.

Surprisingly the inevitable landing was a lot softer than what she had braced herself for, the mound of straw that she was now laying in saved her life for if she had fallen more to the left of where she was now then she would most certainly have died. She looked at the contraption that was to the left of her and shuddered at the thought of landing on it, it did not cross her mind to wonder just what it was.

The object in question was cylindrical in shape and had large spikes jutting out from it at every angle imaginable, Sammy thought to herself that if she had fallen onto it then she would have been skewered through and through.

She stood up and brushed herself down with her hands and regarded her new surroundings, she looked up towards where she had fallen from and found it hard to believe that she had fallen that far, the top of the wall must have been five hundred meters above her.

'There it is again.' Thought Sammy, 'That crying noise.'
Sammy walked in the direction from where the sound appeared to be coming from, she deducted that the sound was coming from what appeared to be a small barn-like structure.

Sammy slowly approached the barn, she unconsciously held her breath as she neared the door.
She scanned the immediate vicinity just to make sure that she was unseen, when she was sure that she was alone (except for the person who was creating the crying noise) she entered the barn.

At first she did not see anything, she peered into the dusty light that filtered through the cracks in the walls and ceiling, she was sure that whatever was making that noise was not in here.

Just as she was about to leave she heard the noise again, this time it was closer, she looked once more through the barn and caught a glimpse of something half in and half out one of the stalls. She approached with caution, the crying noise was beginning to frighten her, it was getting louder with each step that she took, 'A baby' she thought, 'Yes I can see it now.'

Sammy said this out loud as if she were talking to someone. Seeing as she was much closer now she was able to see the baby's head, it was crying out and Sammy was sure that the baby was in pain. She rushed over to where the baby was, she was still only able to see the baby's head at this moment but when she rushed into the stall and saw everything that was there, she screamed out as loud as her lungs would let her.

Images of Hell flashed into Sammy's mind, (Her interpretation of what Hell would look like) Her mind could not believe what it was seeing. The animal she saw, no, the 'Thing' that she saw was the most horrifying thing that she had ever seen or dreamt of.

Laying on the straw in the stall where she was now standing was a cat, not the ordinary cat that one would expect to see, this was huge; it was laying on it's side with it's back legs parted, the head of this cat was bigger than Sammy's, it's coat was a pale shade of red, comming out of it's, (To Sammy it seemed like it's arse) was a childs head.

The child was still crying, there was blood all over it's face, it was shaking it's head from side to side as it yelled out. Beside the child's face was piss and shit that had obviously came from the cat,the smell was enough to make Sammy gag, it was disgusting.

This cat, (Thing, whatever it was) looked straight into Sammy's eyes, it had the sort of look that said, 'Please help me'. Sammy felt her legs go weak at the sight that she was seeing, she was shaking her head as she said out aloud, over and over again, 'No! No! No!'.

The cat slowly raised it's head up from the straw, it blinked a few times then made a low growling sound. One of it's huge paws lifted slightly with the effort of growling, (Obviously this cat was in real pain)
it's eyes bored into Sammy's, then it said, (Yes! Then it said) 'Please help me'.

Sammy looked at the cat, she looked at the child's head, she felt darkness take over her mind as the nauseating effects took over. She slumped to the floor, she was rubbing her head with her hands while she shook her head in disbelief.

Suddenly, all hell broke loose. Sammy opened her eyes in response to the slapping of her face by a strange figure. She heard a woman say, 'Sassi, do not worry, I am here my friend, there is no need to try to fight me as I mean you no harm.'
The woman was dressed in what looked like old Roman clothing, she was kneeling down in front of the big cat talking to it. In front of Sammy was a big man who wore similar garb to the woman and he was in the process of grabbing Sammy's arms and pulling her to her feet.

Sammy said, 'What is this, who are you? What is going on here?'
'Speak when you are spoken to.' Said the woman, 'I am Rachel, Queen of Sargosa, take her away Milo, make sure she is well secured then return to aid me here; be swift my friend as I fear that time is short.'

The man that Sammy now knew was called Milo, pulled her to her feet and dragged her behind him as he left the barn.
Sammy tried to talk to her (captor?), 'Who are you? Where are you taking me?' There was no response as this man dragged Sammy to a small building which was not far from the barn. she was pulled harshly by the arms, Sammy saw that there were more of these people scattered around the area.
She saw women carrying what looked like laundry in large baskets, she saw children playing on the streets with toys that looked like action men figures, but the faces of these dolls looked nothing like anything that Sammy had ever seen before.

The man (Milo) pushed the door open and soon had Sammy chained to a wall that was at the far end of the room. He fastened her well for when he left the room, Sammy was not able to move her hands an inch.

Back in the barn, the woman that we now know as Rachel, was kneeling down in front of Sassi, 'Take it easy Sassi' Said Rachel, 'I think that we can get this over with real soon but you have got to help me OK?'

Sassi growled in approval and let Rachel take full control of the birth.
Rachel put her hand inside Sassi's opening and after a few seconds said, 'Oh yes Sassi, I feel the problem; your child's legs are tangled in your umbilical cord. Give me a second then when I say push, you push really hard OK?'

Sassi then said, 'I understand Rachel, please be careful.'
Rachel felt around in the hot insides of Sassi, she stretched as far as her arm would go and soon she managed to free the child's legs.

After making sure that the way was clear she said, 'Now Sassi, push my friend, push with all your might.'
Sassi did push with all of her might and soon Rachel was holding a crying child in her arms.

She lay the child in front of Sassi who immediately started to lick all of the blood and matter off of the child's body.

'Oh Sassi' Said Rachel, 'What shall you call him? It is a boy, just what you always wanted.'
Sassi said wearily, 'You name him Rachel, if it were not for you then he would most certainly of died, you name him please.'
Rachel had known Sassi for a long time and knew that if Sassi said she was to name him then that is what she would have to do.

'I know' Said Rachel, 'We will call him Savior, for that is what he will be, our savior.'
'Splendid.' Said Sassi, 'A wonderful name for a wonderful child.'
As the name Savior was mentioned, a strong wind blew through the streets
of Sargosa. Just as the child was being delivered, Milo returned to the barn; he was just in time to see the arrival of the new child, he stopped in his tracks as the child was pulled out; he saw that the child had a strange glow around it, rather than mention that he had seen this strange glow he chose not to.

'You took your time Milo.' Said Rachel, 'Any problems with our new arrival?'
Milo said, 'None whatsoever my Queen, all is well.'
'Good' Said Rachel, 'We shall soon see what the woman wants with us.'
'In time she will tell us all about her plans, like the others, she will confide in us.'

As she said this Rachel was grinning from ear to ear, she seemed to be delighted with the prospect of the forthcoming interview with Sammy.

This was a very strange story indeed--I've never read anything like it. I'm glad I came across it.

***laughing*** Sassi is sitting up on my computer table and purring...so John, must mean that she is very pleased with your last comment! =o)

(she's been so traumatized since I was gone for the month, this may be the thing she needed to cheer up!)

....and to clarify, my cat thinks its cool that one of the main characters in your story (who is a cat) is named after her!! **g** Believe me, she often sits here while I work on the computer, right beside the screen, watching so I swear everything I just said is true! **g**
