L'eau Froide
by Sam Hackel-Butt
copyright 09-27-2006

Age Rating: 10 to 127

L’eau froide.
Que je peux me noyer dedans.
Un sourire sur mes lèvres.
Comme je suis sucée vers le bas.
Dans l’isolement de la vortex.
C'est plus facile quand
Personne ne sait votre nom.
Pourquoi vous ne voyez jamais
Que je suis morte au l’intérieur?

The translation (roughly):
Cold water.
That I can drown in.
A smile on my lips.
As I’m sucked down.
Into the vortex of isolation.
It’s easier when
No one knows your name.
Why can’t you see
That I’m dying inside?

*A/N: My first shot at a French poem. I thought it sounded more haunting in French than in English.

Ahhh... French. Who wouldn't love it?

Misspelling... "dieing" to "dying".

Wahh... the shivers... the shivers... IT"S COLD!! This is suuuch a dark poem. I can't read french though... maybe I'll try to write a Spanish poem later if the spell check doesn't kill me. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks for translating your poem. My French is a little rusty, although my wife is fluent in the language. Nicely done with a gentle touch of emotion.
