Fairy House

  Fairy House

She silently tiptoes up the path to the tree.
Fireflies light up so that she can see.

Each of her steps lights on a pebble so small,
Tiny, so wee, like a Thumbelina doll.

Her wings flicker, catching the dance of the light,
Fairy dust in her hair glows in the night.

She moves toward the light glowing soft up ahead.
She opens the door, then heads off to bed.

She drifts off to sleep, her head filled with dreams
Of dancing and flying so high, so it seems.

When morning lights up the horizon again,
She wakes up and starts down the path from her den

Which nests in the bottom of the giant oak tree,
Hidden from beings like you and like me.

She soon meets up with friends that she knows
And they spread fairy dust that makes flowers grow.

A fairy does things that are special, you see.
They grow all the plants and the flowers and trees.

I remember the days that I used to believe in fairies. I was so innocent then. Life was free and easy. No worries. No looking beyond today.
What a sweet life just like this sweet poem.
Technically the structure rhyme and rhythm are good.
Good write, thanks,

Rich

A lullaby indeed! I could sail right to sleep.. smiling as I slumber.. dreaming of dancing and flying so high!
It is something I'd very much like to share with my granddaughter, Faye Muin. She is a faerie afterall.. Her name means Faerie.. Celtic, I think.

This is so whimsical, pure, and pristeen. Well-crafted too, in its rhyme, meter, and consistent line length. You show a talent for perhaps writing a childrens' book.

This is so cute, Aunt BJ. I like these lines the best...

Her wings flicker, catching the dance of the light,
Fairy dust in her hair glows in the night.

Something about the light dancing... it looks beautiful in my mind. Thank you for painting me such a wonderful picture to start my day! :-)

Well Tinker Bell would be proud of this, don't forget every time someone says they don't believe in fairies, one dies. There is not enough magic left in this world that we can afford to lose even one of these shining beings.
I believe in fairies, can you hear me clapping?

I love fairies! The way you chose to write about the fairy in your poem is very cool. You have a lovley rhyme scheme going too.

My favorite line is

"She soon meets up with friends that she knows
and they spread fairy dust that makes flowers grow"

Keep it up!

~Jenn

This paints a nice picture. A wonderful childrens' poem ideal for reading at bedtime. This one will certainly leave them with sweet dreams.
