Why'd you have to die so young?
You were only forty-four
You did so much for our world
Why couldn't you do more?
Why'd you have to choose that day,
That reef, that spot, that time?
If only you'd have waited,
Then right now, you'd be fine
Why did that stingray have to choose
To jab into your heart?
Why couldn't it have missed instead
And stung another part?
Why'd you leave your family?
Poor Terri, Bindi, and Bob
The kids won't know their father
Their mother hides her sob
Why'd you disappoint me
And all who held you dear?
I hope you know, you're my hero
Why did you disappear?
So now you're gone, why must it be?!
You were just like no other
Why, God, did it have to be
The Crocodile Hunter?
