Because You Are Watching Over Me

Because You Are Watching Over Me

This is for a special being that is always with me. Watching and protecting me.

Though no one can see you, I know you are there.
That's why I haven't a care.

Some know about you, but you don't seem to care.
You just do what you have to, to protect me.

You watch over me from a far. When danger appears you spring into action.

When you are near, the darkness seems to melt away.
And the light seems to shine brighter than ever before.

You have sheltered me from harm, and I can't thank you enough for what you have done.

Your green eyes shine in the night to light my way back, when I am lost in the fight.

I know that I am safe and free, because you are watching over me.

When I close my eyes, I know you are here.
I open them wide and you appear.

Through the darkest times you carry me on your back and always stay near me until I am me again.

Through it all you have always been there for me, and I know that you always will.

Thank you for watching over me.

This poem makes me wonder who...is it the angel on your shoulder, someone that you loved deeply, but has gone into the great beyond, or a fairy sprite who is with you day and night? Whatever the case, I really enjoyed your poem, Melissa.

I like a write with a bit of mystery, and that is what this one is to me.
"Some know about you, but you don't seem to care." Some verses like this must have a special meaning to you, while most of us will never know.
Keeping this entity a secret is what makes this writing intriguing.
