My only friend, the razor
by Shannon W. (Age: 16)
copyright 10-16-2006

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Everyday my life somehow gets worse, my dreams have disappeared, they have been replaced with horrid nightmares.

The razor blade has left it's permanent mark on my wrist. No one knows how much I'm dieing, no one cares or even notices.

I'm dying for someone to talk to someone that wont get mad or send me to a shrink. So many times I've cried, so many feelings are hidden within. I am like a bottle that is forever shut tight.

I see the razor blade again, it has always been there for me, never yelled or left me when I was at my worst time. Just always there. The razor is my only friend to the bitter end.

I completely agree with what you say in the poem. I like how you explained that the razor was there and never yelled at you, or wouldn't send you to the shrink. I just told my two best friends that i cut and need their support, but all they did was yell and shock and asked why. They could never understand. You did a great job explaining how there was no other way but to rely on the razor. do you still cut? email me. I'd like to talk about it. superb job.

Leah

(p.s. i wrote about the time i first cut it's on my page called: No Other Way)

Wow this piece was a bit disturbing but yet sad. I truly hope that you don't think life is that bad. Just remember life does get better but not if you keep hurting yourself you have to stand up and fight. I will be your friend if you like. If you ever need anyone to talk to or just someone you know is here for you please let me know. I have a lot of friends that like razors and I help them with their problems. Don't worry I wont get mad at you or send you to a shrink. Make good decisions though ok?

Samantha

I've read the comments on this piece, and it is obvious to me that the razor is not your only friend; you have many of them. Although they may be on cyberspace, and you may never meet them in the flesh, they are still your friends.
I like your writing; it is sharp and to the point, but so dark and sad.

I know how you feel.
Read my piece-"In The Face Of That Which He Doesn't Understand". This is partially fiction/ partially true, but it expresses how I feel.

Good write -thanks-

Rich
