The security of his arms,
His body keeps me warm,
The day's events we share,
He runs his fingers through my hair.
His arm brushes my side,
When he reaches to kill the light,
I lay my head on his chest,
We settle in to rest.
With a slow, soft, gentle kiss,
Only the two of us exist,
While we whisper in the dark,
My fingers trace his heart.
Drifting off to sleep,
My heart is his to keep.
In the night, two become one,
Until the light of breaking dawn.
When demons haunt me, start to be real,
He whispers, "It's all right, baby. I'm right here."
I feel his strength at my back,
And remember it's safe where I'm at.
I'm overcome by peace,
My thoughts drift, then cease.
I listen to him breathing,
I feel his heart beating. . . .

Bev and Kay Lee, It could happen some day. I've got a prospect in mind. I just don't know if it's in HIS mind. LOL I kinda wish that twist wasn't there, Bev, but I guess until something comes along, I've got to live with it. *sigh* Jackie
Jackie,
Your thoughts could be harbingers, who knows. They are quite eloquent... Surely there's someone who'd like to share the life of someone who can vocalize her wishes as well as you. I wish you well.
This one really wanted to come, Robert, but I couldn't remember what it was actually like to sleep with someone! It's been awhile. LOL I'm sorry to hear about your wife. It's hard to lose someone that you love. Jackie
