A chorus of cheerful robins chirped as a grey misty dawn slowly shed it's shroud. Sherry's head lay on the table where she had exhaustedly rested it for just a minute... a few hours ago.
Seeing this was the last cup, he started a fresh pot. The aroma soon woke her and she yawned, smiled and said, "G'mornin' Sam, hon." Her face changed to troubled as she asked, "Where are?... Are they here?"
"Not yet. As soon as he's in I'll call Harry. They'll be back by today if we have to tear this town apart." Harry DeRowe, was good. He rather resembled a sad basset hound and judges were loathe to tell him no on anything. He won quite a few more than he lost.

"Jill, Jill honey," you'll be late for school. Linda stopped at the door and saw Jill was still in bed.
Jill stared at Linda. "Not going! ever again !" she spat out.
Linda looked at her angry face and decided that one day would not be a problem. "Better to just let her get used to us," she thought.
"So how's the 'pretty one?'" said Rick as Linda came into the small kitchen.
"Rick, just shut up for once... please."

"Where is she? Where is my sister? I want her here. She needs me," said Tim as he stood with folded arms.
Marie smiled, "Tim, sometimes they have to put children in different homes. I..."
"I don't care! I want her here! She needs my help!" shouted Tim as he took up pacing again.

"Sam has been calling," said Noma as Harry walked into the wainscotted entryway and hung up his coat.
"What about?"
"He won't tell me but says it's real important and he needs a call from you right away."
"Ok do you have the papers ready on the Jameson case?"
"Right here, Master," smiled Noma as she handed the file.
"Good, please get Sam on the phone, I'll take it in my office."
"Hi Sam? What's up?"
"They did? Really. Did they have an order? and did you read it? No, that's ok... I realize how it must have been, a big strain. What was the casworker's name? Andrea... Andrea Whiting... How's Sherry taking all this? Sorry to hear. Just try to help her and keep her calm. I hope this is just some kind of mistake. I'll get right on it and have some answers by say 2:00 this afternoon. Come to my office and be sure to bring Sherry. I may have some questions for her."
