Resurrection
by Wayne Thomas (Age: 58)
copyright 12-05-2007

Age Rating: 13 to 127

The sun rises like a jar of honey
and turns another page
No amount of silver money
could whet this gilded rage

The day stretches like a bolt of wool
blue sky invites reflection
for whether genius or whether fool
each day's a resurrection

I liked the simplicity of this poem. It also comes at me like a short adage with great profound advice attached to it. I do like the fact that you drew out the concept of one day being a day of resurrection; it reminds us all that each day is another day for new and wonderful things while knowing that there are rough times ahead. Excellent work!!!

I have an east-facing kitchen window over the sink where I like to keep our honey jar just because it looks so good when the morning light shines through it. You hit the nail on the head with this one!

Definatly a different way of saying each day is a new day. I don't know about the jar of honey, but I'm sure in your mind(which makes poetry such a good medium of expression), this makes good sense to you.

Visual smorgasbord! My appetite has been satiated for now. Thank you very much!

Not that any part is better than the rest, but this part sticks in my memory and plays over and over again...

Very nice, indeed!

Your Sis,

Mary
