To Great Uncle John

Its a time of mourning
and we all grieve
But soon there will be joy
from our reprieve
The pain is all gone
which doesn't make us sad
But in order for it to happen
you had to die in your bed
We hate to see you go
but know you're in a better place
Little did we know
in our hearts is an empty space
The sorrow of our loss
will show in our tears
But knowing you're in Heaven
will keep us happy through the years.
