Rings of Starlight
by Chessie Hodge (Age: 18)
copyright 01-13-2007

Age Rating: 7 to 127

Sitting in the center of a fairy ring,
Feeling the lonely comfort of a fairy song,
My eyes closed,
I drifted far away,
The dark night chased the day,
I jumped into the river,
And floated along in the summer sun,
I could hear the fairies as they played together on the bank,
Smiling and laughing,
Splashing in the shallower waters there,
I shut my eyes,
The trees of the meadow sighed in the wind,
But I awoke lying inside the fairy ring,
I could still hear the song,
My heart hurt,
But then it felt a fairy's touch,
I bid my cares to part,
And I felt at ease in the fairy ring,
And the fairies all revealed themselves to me,
I reached out,
And my soul flew away with them,
Into the great wide mystery of the sky,
I was no longer alone,
And free,
So free,
Leaving the world behind,
To make my own fairy ring with them,
In the stars...

I love all your poems so much. your style here is nice and flowing.
Fantasy poems make me all happy inside, possibly because I can't write them myself.
No problems here.
Keep writing!

I loooooooved the descriptions. I liked how you added in emotion and everything seemed to flow so well! This is the kind of poem that would make me day dream in class and slowly drift away... But about the poem- you used great punctuation, too. I love free verse poems, because they seem so free and open minded. I can't write one either. But you made a really pretty free verse poem. great job.

That was really well put. Wow. I liked the way it rhymed and they way it just flew together. It seems like you switched sides and found something better. I really liked the whole thing. Keep it up. Talk to you later.

The story and the words literally
jump off the page at me. This is so colorful and so full of action. Your style is most professional,
keep up the good work,

Rich
